"New: Arista Silver Artist Series Fine Art B&W (Lithable) Paper.
It is not often that a new lithable product comes onto the market, so this new product from Freestyle is likely to attract attention from fine art B&W printers and lith printers alike. (Online and in house sales)
Freestyle have created a fusion product with the French-made BFK Rives 100% cotton 280gsm fine art paper and the Croatian Fotokemika's variable contrast 'Varycon' emulsion. At present this is available in 8x10" and 11x14" sizes in both white matte and grey matte finishes. Other base tints and a semi matte surface are being actively explored.
We often do use Varycon paper on my lith workshops and in its usual form it lith prints well. Coating on art paper can affect an emulsion's performance characteristics though, as those of you who have lithed liquid emulsions will know. I haven't used this new product myself yet, but I have been informed that Freestyle have had good results with both Lith and bleach-and-redevelopment techniques and so I look forward to testing it for myself."
