Tres interessant effectivement le lien du forum APUG souligne par M. Savignol. J'ai contacte Mark Nelson a propos de son livre. Pour ceux que cela interesserait, voici sa reponse, et des renseignements quant a sa disponibilite:
Hi CL,
Thanks for your inquiry.
The book is over 40,000 words and I think something like 100 illustrations—and a bit of humor. This is an eBook in PDF format.
There are also files (Calibration Palettes) included and software, the Curve Calculator.
Registered users of the book will also have access to a website that will contain additional information, update notices, advanced issues, workshop notices, user feedback, Troubleshooting, and other goodies. I hope to have some areas that will be dedicated to use with specific processes. This section will be added in a month or two.
The cost will be $75 plus $5 shipping and handling in the US. I'm still trying to figure the cost of overseas shipping.
The contents section will be posted later this month on the website below. It covers everything from Image Capture (Scanner & Digital Camera), Image File Preparation, Calibration, Making a Negative, Making a Print, Print & Negative Evaluation, Comparison of Negative Manipulation Vs Chemistry Manipulation etc.
The book defines how digital negatives really work and offers something totally new to the process: precise matching of the density range of the digital negative to the exposure scale of the alternative process—before the determination/application of the curve. Thus, the Process Adjustment Curve that is determined is a very gentle one. This is also important in that the less drastic the curve applied, the more tones from the image file actually get printed. Prints can be made that match exactly what you see on your monitor.
For each alternative process/contrast mix, once the Calibration Process is completed, most people are able to make perfect prints without any test prints or tweaking. The process is very repeatable.
The book has "gone to press" and will start shipping around August 10th.
I have placed your e-mail address in my notification list.
Dick Arentz (http://www.dickarentz.com/) and I will be doing a combined workshop for PT/PD and Precision Digital Negatives August 26-29 in the Chicago area. If you are interested, let me know right away, it is filling up fast! Future workshops inlcude Sandy King on Carbon Printing using the new Carbon Tissue from Bostick & Sullivan and Sam Wang on full color Gum Printing.
I hope this information is helpful.
Best Wishes,
Mark Nelson
