"
Names of B&W AGFA photo chemistries
made in Germany and Belgium.
Hello, it is absoltuely clear to me, that I probably now more than ever before, getting an
avalanche of inquiries, misunderstandings, interpretations, etc.
Well, I will have to accept it, I think it is now high time to care for clarity and thruth.
Herewith, I am trying an attempt.
(well-meant and constructive advice should be mailed to photo@mahn.net, as always more
than welcome)
Which "AGFA" photo chemical products are currently on
the market?
AGFA with (traditional) rhombus:
Production 2005/2006, in parts until 2007.
AGFA Photo with the sensor point:
Production from 2007, in parts unitl 2008.
AGFA photo chemistry by Compard:
Detailed assembly as partner, sometimes in 2008, now regularly in 2009.
The photo chemistries prepared in Vaihingen/Germany by the "old" AGFA photo chemical f
actory are freshly prepared, and in Geesthacht/Germany packed and equipped with the labels,
that contain the sentence: (Example) Made as original AGFA Rodinal, packed as 09 One Shot,
by Compard KG, Geesthacht/Germany.
AGFA RODINAL = R09 One Shot
AGFA RODINAL Special = Special R09
AGFA STUDIONAL = R09 Studio
AGFA NEUTOL NE = Print NE
AGFA NEUTOL WA = Print WA
AGFA AGEFIX = FIX Ag
AGFA AGEFIX Plus = FIX Ag Plus
AGFA AGEPON = WAC (Wetting Agent)
AGFA SISTAN = AG Stab
(whether this be understood?)

Add:
Probably not, because there are also other suppliers of AGFA photo chemistry in the market,
here the two paths:
1) It is in Vaihingen produced, packed by Compard KG, original product, marketed under various
brands. One of them is Blazes, Canada. But really just one of lots others as known as OEM brands.
2) It is produced in Vaihingen, packaged by whom whoever. Distributed by anyone.
An example of this vendors, includes FOMA.
Where is the sense behind this?
An attempt to find an explanation would be the consideration, that the chemical plant in
Vaihingen must produce profitable batches! If there is so far jointly produced for several
financial- strong sales customers, the probability of the production can be maintained.
Who has ever been vitsited the factory, can recognitew it:
Hey, this is a real big chemical company.
Finally, ensure the production of high-quality jobs in Vaihingen and connect elsewhere.
There is a bit "confusion" quite bearable, isn't it?
Viel Freude beim filmbasierten Arbeiten mit unseren Produkten.
Awesome prints start with great negatives. Great negatives start with superior films!
Mit freundlichem Gruss / With kind regards
